The deadline remains April 2. We'll notify all challenge followers if there's any change. There are still loaner devices available from Samsung, if this would help you in the time remaining. The program is first come first served. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more and sign up for one.
+1 for extension. Given the size of the prize pool, Samsung can probably get a lot more and better apps written for this device with a longer development window. Plus, the month of March is tax preparation season in the USA, where the contest is focused, which for some of us means we don't have as much spare time for development.
We appreciate all the hard work you have put into creating your apps. The deadline for the Samsung Galaxy Note S Pen App Challenge is today – Monday, April 2nd at 5:00 pm EDT. Many thanks to everyone for supporting and participating in this challenge. We look forward to receiving your submissions.
Will there be a continuing loaner program for folks who miss the deadline but would still like to complete and market an app? Will you be, or would you consider, seeding developers with devices if they show you working betas of quality pen apps?
Richard, you can send an email to email@example.com to request a loaner device. The loaner program is a separate Samsung Developer program and not a part of the Galaxy Note S Pen App Challenge, so devices are still available after the competition ends. Keep in mind that devices are limited, and are available on a first come first served basis.
We came up with an education app integrating with the SPen nicely for the last two weeks, but too bad we couldn't make the deadline. Feels terrible not being able to complete the submission, despite the sleepless last couple of days.
Agreed, I'm heading to bed after a 24 hour programming session...still no submission :-( Maybe someone should set up a G+ group for developers who TRIED to submit an app to the competition but ran out of time...or maybe it's my exhaustion talking. In any case, I bet there will be some interesting apps to come out of this. I hope the winners are great apps, otherwise I'll feel even worse about not just getting something in.
